“Redemption by Substitution”
In Galatians 3:1–14, Paul confronts the dangerous drift from dependence upon Christ to spiritual self-reliance. This message explores how the gospel not only saves us, but continues to sustain and transform us every day. Through the example of Abraham, Paul reminds us that righteousness has always come through faith, not human performance. The sermon also wrestles honestly with the weight of sin, the curse of the law, and the impossibility of saving ourselves through moral effort. At the center of the passage is the glorious truth that Jesus Christ became a curse in our place so that we could receive the blessing of God through faith. “Redemption by Substitution” invites us to stop striving to prove ourselves and instead rest fully in the finished work of Christ. Come discover again the freedom, assurance, and hope found in the gospel alone.
